Method Learning is seeking engaging, dependable educators to join our growing instructional team. We're hiring part-time, hourly instructors to lead SAT and ACT preparation classes at local high schools while also providing remote and in-person one-on-one tutoring throughout the year.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced teachers, tutors, graduate students, and education professionals who are looking for flexible, rewarding work that makes a meaningful impact on students' lives.
We're hiring now so new instructors can complete training this summer and be ready for our Fall 2026 classroom programs.
About the PositionThis role combines classroom instruction with individual tutoring
, providing a variety of teaching opportunities throughout the year.
As a Method Learning Instructor, you will:
- Teach SAT and ACT preparation courses at partner high schools throughout Nassau County.
- Provide one-on-one tutoring to students both remotely and in person
. - Deliver engaging, supportive instruction that helps students build confidence and improve their academic performance.
- Foster a positive, organized classroom environment that encourages participation and learning.
- Complete basic administrative tasks such as session logs, attendance, and class communication.
You Teach. We Provide the Curriculum.
One of the best parts of this position is that you are not responsible for creating lesson plans or developing curriculum.
Method Learning has developed a comprehensive SAT and ACT curriculum that includes instructor guides, lesson plans, presentations, practice materials, and teaching resources. You'll receive training on our instructional approach and then focus on what great educators do best—connecting with students, presenting the material, and creating an engaging learning experience.
Who We're Looking ForWe're looking for educators who enjoy working with high school students and are passionate about helping them succeed.
Required qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Previous classroom teaching and/or tutoring experience
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Professionalism, reliability, and organizational skills
- The ability to motivate, encourage, and engage students
Our preference is to hire instructors who are comfortable teaching both the Math and English sections of the SAT and ACT. However, we recognize that many outstanding educators specialize in one subject. If you're an experienced Math or English teacher or tutor who prefers to teach within your area of expertise, we strongly encourage you to apply. We can often accommodate highly qualified subject specialists.
Previous experience teaching or tutoring SAT and/or ACT students is a plus, but it is not required

Reliable personal transportation is required.
Applicants should be comfortable driving to assigned school locations for evening classes. Because we serve multiple school districts, instructors who are willing to travel have access to the greatest number of teaching opportunities.
Tutoring opportunities are available both remotely and in person
. Remote tutoring requires no travel and can be conducted from home.
This is a part-time, hourly position
.
Typical opportunities include:
- Evening classroom instruction (generally between 6:00 PM and 9:30 PM
) - Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday class schedules during the school year
- Flexible one-on-one tutoring during afternoons, evenings, and weekends
- Remote tutoring from home
- Optional in-person tutoring assignments
Hours vary based on course schedules, tutoring demand, and your availability.
