NYS Certified Teaching Assistant - Long Island

Location:

Long Island, NY (school districts across Nassau and Suffolk County)

Status:
Part time/Hourly, School calendar with potential for extended school year

Hours:

Monday-Friday During School Hours.

Compensation: $25-27/hour (rate determined by experience and certification)

• Provide instructional services and support to students under the supervision of a certified teacher.
• Help prepare teaching materials and environment to support instruction.
• Familiarity with basic behavior intervention strategies and principles.
• Participate in maintaining data collection to ensure success of academic and behavioral plans.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children and staff.
• Possibility of assisting in managing the behaviors of students and crisis intervention.
• Participate in team meetings as appropriate.

• Teaching Assistant Certification:
  Level I, Level II, Level III or Pre-Professional.
• High School Diploma or equivalent – Associates preferred.
• Experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum a plus.
• Bilingual a plus.
