Location: Yaphank

Responsibilities

Prepare and present all programs offered in the current “Field Trips and Outreaches” brochure, both on‑farm and in schools, libraries, and other community settings. Assist with birthday parties and family programs, festivals and special events, and day‑to‑day operations of Farm Education programs.

Position Details

Part‑time (20 hours per week).

Salary: $25 per hour.

Schedule:

Non‑exempt – Temporary:
June 30, 2025 – August 15, 2025.

No relocation or VISA sponsorship available.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Education, or related field, or a High School Diploma with at least 2 years of volunteer or work experience.
  • One year of paid or volunteer experience working with children and the public.
  • Ability to learn how to drive a van and horse trailer, truck and livestock trailer.
  • Ability to lift 10–20 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evenings and weekends, as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Education, or related field.
  • Additional education and training in the field of education.
  • Additional education in agriculture, animal sciences, natural sciences, human development, and consumer sciences.
  • Additional teaching experience related to the academic areas listed above.
  • Experience teaching subjects related to agriculture, animal sciences, natural sciences, human development, and consumer sciences.
