Special Education Teacher – Probationary Appointment

Livonia Central School District is seeking a collaborative, student-centered special education teacher for a probationary appointment beginning with the  school year. The successful candidate's initial assignment is anticipated to be in a self-contained special education classroom at Livonia Elementary School serving students with complex needs.

• Plan and deliver specially designed instruction aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs
• Develop and implement appropriate instructional strategies, accommodations, modifications, communication supports, and behavioral interventions
• Monitor student progress and use assessment data to inform instruction
• Develop, review, and implement IEP goals in collaboration with the Committee on Special Education and instructional team
• Maintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate closely with related service providers, teaching assistants, families, and administrators
• Supervise and provide instructional direction to classroom support staff
• Implement positive behavior supports and individualized behavior intervention plans
• Support students who use augmentative and alternative communication devices
• Communicate regularly and effectively with families regarding student progress and needs
• Participate in CSE meetings, professional learning, and other District responsibilities
• Support students' academic, behavioral, social-emotional, communication, and functional development
