General Education Teaching Assistant (Temporary)

The Dobbs Ferry School District seeks a temporary (leave replacement) General Education Teaching Assistant at Springhurst Elementary School, effective August 31, 2026 - December 23, 2026. Minimum Requirement: NYSED Level I Teaching Assistant certification. Salary commensurate with experience and in accordance with the CSEA Clerical, Teacher Aide/Teaching Assistant contract.

As per NYSED teaching assistants provide instructional services to students under general supervision of a certified teacher. The successful candidate will lead or assist in various activities, aid in the development of educational material, and perform other related duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit; is regularly required to climb, squat, stop, kneel, crouch or crawl; to reach above the head and reach forward; is regularly required to use hands and fingers to feel or handle objects, tools, or controls, and to talk and hear; is occasionally required to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds.

The selected applicant will be subject to a fingerprint supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE legislation effective July 1, 2001.
