About the Role

The Lead Teacher plays a pivotal role in shaping the early developmental experiences of Toddlers within an educational setting. This position is responsible for creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment that supports the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth of infants from 12-24 months. The Lead Teacher leads the classroom team by designing and implementing age‑appropriate curricula that align with developmental milestones and educational standards.

Ultimately, the Lead Teacher fosters a foundation for lifelong learning and well‑being by promoting positive interactions and responsive caregiving practices.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field OR
  • At least 5 years of experience working directly with infants or toddlers in an educational or childcare setting.
  • Knowledge of child developmental milestones and best practices in care and education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a toddler classroom.
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing infant care and early childhood education.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities tailored to toddlers' needs and interests.
  • Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff within the classroom to maintain high‑quality care and education.
  • Monitor and document each child's developmental progress, adjusting care and learning strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment that complies with all health and safety regulations.
  • Engage with families regularly to share observations, provide guidance, and support their involvement in their child’s early learning.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements and participate in ongoing professional development.
