Music Teacher; Part-Time

Notre Dame Academy is seeking a passionate and creative Part‑Time Music Teacher to inspire a lifelong appreciation for music in students from PreK3 through Grade 8. The ideal candidate will foster musical growth through engaging, age‑appropriate instruction in vocal and instrumental music while cultivating creativity, confidence, and collaboration. The Music Teacher will design lessons that align with the New York State Learning Standards for the Arts, prepare students for school performances and liturgical celebrations, and contribute to the vibrant artistic life of our school community.

This educator will encourage students to develop their musical talents while supporting the mission and values of a Catholic, all‑girls education.

• Music Instruction:
  Design and deliver engaging, standards‑based music instruction for students in PreK3 through Grade 8, including vocal music, music literacy, rhythm, movement, and age‑appropriate instrumental experiences.
• Performance Preparation:
  Prepare students for school concerts, liturgies, special performances, and other school events throughout the academic year.
• Curriculum Development:
  Develop and implement a music curriculum aligned with the New York State Learning Standards for the Arts that promotes creativity, musical understanding, and appreciation of diverse musical traditions.
• Technology Integration:
  Incorporate music technology and digital resources to enhance student learning and creativity.
• Collaboration:
  
  Work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and campus ministry to support interdisciplinary learning and school‑wide events.
• Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, school events, and other responsibilities as assigned.

• A commitment to the mission and values of an all‑girls Catholic education.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Education, Music, or a related field.
• New York State certification in Music preferred.
• Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school music.
• Strong vocal and/or instrumental instructional skills.
• Experience directing student performances, concerts, or school productions is preferred.
• Proficiency with educational technology and music instructional software.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with educators, students, and families.
