Position Description

Manhattan University, a NCAA Division I institution, and member of the Northeast Conference (NEC), is seeking a qualified candidate for a part-time position as Assistant Coach for the Men’s Volleyball Program to recruit, develop and retain qualified student‑athletes and assist in all aspects of conducting the program.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assists in identifying and recruiting prospective student‑athletes.
  • Assists with preparation of practice and competition including scouting duties.
  • Assists with on‑court practice and competition at home and away sites.
  • Assists with the planning of road trips, team meals and travel itinerary.
  • Assists with recruiting visits and itineraries.
  • Drives team van to away matches.
  • Volley metrics film assessment and scouting reports.
  • Responsible for using ARMS software to maintain and update activities regarding the program.
  • Attends scheduled department meetings.
  • Assists with administrative duties.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with student‑athletes, colleagues and administrators.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree required;
    Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of full‑time prior experience at the NCAA Division I/II level.
  • Assertive, outgoing, hard‑working and resourceful.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships and create partnerships with a wide range of constituent groups.
  • Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Required to travel and ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, strong attention to detail and keep specific timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to work effectively with coaches, students, faculty, administration, alumni, and community.
