Secondary Assistant Principal
This position is anticipated to be at Johanna Perrin Middle School. The building serves students in grade 6 - 8. Fairport Central School District is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. Qualifications:
- At least five years of successful experience in education, including experience at the secondary level and a strong background in the secondary school curriculum. Some prior supervisory or administrative experience is desirable but not required.
- A valid New York State administrative certificate to perform in this position (i.e., School Administrator & Supervisor, School District Administrator, or School Building Leader).
- Comprehensive knowledge of and experience with the NYS Next Generation Learning Standards and Student Learning Objectives and the NYS Culturally and Sustaining Education Framework.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

Job Goal:
To assist the principal in the general management functions of the school to ensure that students receive the best possible education and services with the resources available, and that the school is an attractive, pleasant, healthy, safe and productive place in which to learn.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Assists the principal with the instructional leadership of the school.
- Assists the principal in setting goals for the school, preparing long and short range plans to accomplish these goals, and the implementation of the approved priorities in accordance with District needs and expectations.
- Fosters a school culture that promotes diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Coordinates and supervises the day-to-day student management procedures in the school, including related record keeping and referral systems.
- Directs all student expectations utilizing restorative practices and the PBIS model.
- Oversees attendance and pupil accounting procedures for the school and works closely with the principal in handling the related daily responsibilities.
- Utilizes data to inform decision-making in relationship to curricular, instructional and professional development goals and outcomes.
- Coordinates and supervises the school's student activities, including clubs and other organizations.
- Assists the principal in observing and evaluating the performance of the instructional and support staff, and completing required documentation.
- Coordinates the scheduling of all students and the instructional staff.
- Coordinates all grade report procedures and serves as the school's liaison with BOCES and district data processing services.
- Assists the principal in the management of the school generally, in accordance with the desires of the principal.
- Assists the principal in working with community groups such as the PTSA, and with the school public generally.
- Keeps abreast of changes and developments in education and uses this knowledge constructively in the performance of this position as well as for school improvement.
- Acts as principal in the absence of the principal.
- Performs such other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the principal, Superintendent of Schools, or their designee.
Terms of Employment:
Twelve month year. Salary and benefits to be based on the agreement between the Fairport Administrators Association and the Fairport Central School District.
Evaluation:
Performance in this position will be evaluated by the principal.
