Elementary Art Teacher; TERM

Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Elementary Art Teacher to join our team for a one-year leave replacement. The ideal candidate will have a passion for art education and the ability to inspire students in Grades PreK-6 to explore and express their creativity through various artistic mediums.

• Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid NYS teaching license or certification in Art Education.
• Experience teaching art at elementary level.
• Proficiency in a variety of art techniques and mediums.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Develop and implement engaging art lessons that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines for elementary school students, PK-6.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to experiment, take risks, and develop their artistic voice.
• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students improve their artistic techniques, critical thinking skills, and self-expression.
• Organize and facilitate opportunities for students to display their artwork and receive recognition for their achievements.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community partners to promote art education and advocate for the importance of creativity in students' overall development.
• Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in art education and contribute to the school's arts program enhancement.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior and attendance.
• Utilize effective classroom management skills.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians.

• Hours: 7.25 hours per day, September 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027
• Master s Degree Stipend: $900 per year
• Stipend per Grad Credit: $50 per credit, per year

Note:

All employees hired must have electronic fingerprint clearance through the NYS Education Department prior to employment. A required fee of $102.50 must be paid by debit or credit card to the New York State Education Department.
