The Graduate Resident Advisor (GRA) for Community Care & Conduct Education is a student-centered leadership role designed to enhance the residential experience through proactive engagement with student support, wellness, and educational initiatives related to community standards. This developmental position supports peer accountability, community building, and wellness promotion while offering exposure to institutional response models, conflict mediation, and behavioral education.

The GRA reports to the Associate Director of Student Behavior and collaborates with Community Care Specialists, Resident Assistants (RAs), and Residential Education staff. The position supports proactive student learning through programming, peer outreach, and partnership with key university stakeholders. This is a part-time, 10-month, live-on position, requiring 20 working office hours to be worked regularly per week spread across Monday-Friday, not including on-call responsibilities.

This position serves on-call, and some evening and weekend hours will be expected, especially at certain times such as opening, closing and training. In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined, this position will include up to 10 of the required 20 weekly hours serving in a designated residence hall. In this capacity, the incumbent will assist with a standardized set of operational tasks, which will be established and communicated at the beginning of each semester.

These responsibilities are intended to support the effective operation of the residence hall and may vary based on departmental needs.

**** RESPONSIBILITIES****
* **** Student Conduct Education & Community Standards****  + Promote the understanding of the Code of Student Conduct through educational programs and peer engagement.  + Assist in response to low-level incidents with supervised observation and peer-centered guidance.  + Support restorative and proactive educational efforts on Residential community expectations.  + Participate in incident review shadowing and assist in response to low-level cases reported through PAVE.  

+ Collaborate with campus partners to implement proactive community standards initiatives.
* **** Community Care & Crisis Response****  + Foster a community of care through wellness campaigns and proactive outreach.  + Support staff in crisis wellness check-ins and follow-up referrals.  + Participate in a rotational on-call model with opportunities to observe and debrief response strategies.  + Collaborate in referring peers to appropriate support resources (e.g.., Student Support & Advocacy, Student Health Services, etc.).
* **** Training & Development****  + Attend and participate in ongoing training around conduct education, wellness campaigns and proactive outreach.  + Co-lead workshop and educational sessions on inclusive practices, harm reduction, and responsible decision making.  + Assist in curating educational resources for RA Training and community development.
* **** Operational & Collaboration Responsibilities****  + Learn and apply basic documentation procedures in the PAVE system under supervision.  + Contribute to Residence Education initiatives including Residence Hall Openings, Orientation, Welcome Week, Campus Programs, and End of Year Closing.  + Strengthen partnerships with Campus Safety, Housing, and other student-facing offices through collaborative learning experiences.
**** MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
***** Must be a full-time matriculated graduate student at The New School University.
* Must be in good standing with the university, including the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards, the Office of Student Accounts, and the Department of Residential Education.
* Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 throughout the period of employment.
* Demonstrated crisis management, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
* Experience working with or engaging diverse populations.
* Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively.
* Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
* Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations.
