Volunteer Tutor for After School Homework Help (In Person) Summer 2026 - 2027
The CIANA Education Team is seeking volunteers for our in person after school Homework Help/ Tutoring Program for Summer 2026 to Summer 2027
. Volunteer Tutors will help our students by supporting them in completing their homework and strengthening their academic skills.
Volunteer Tutors will support the After School program by offering one-on-one or small group homework help and tutoring to students in grades 1-8. Homework help sessions are conducted between 4 - 5:30 PM. Volunteer tutors might also be used as substitutes for other volunteers at times.
Qualifications- Passionate, committed, engaging!
- Experience in working with children is preferred, but not required.
- Background in mathematics and/or English is preferred.
- Volunteers available on both Monday and Wednesday are preferred, but not required.
- Volunteers must be 15+ years of age at the time of application.
- Mon and Wed 1.5-hour tutoring sessions between 4 and 5:30 PM.
This is an in-person position and you must report to our office in Astoria. This position is open to New York City (and surrounding area) residents only.
Prospective Volunteers will have to fill out an availability form if selected and they will be screened via a virtual meet-and-greet.
Age minimum (with adult): 15+. Minimum age:15+
