Sunset Park Reach & Read

Reach Out and Read is an evidence-based, research-validated early childhood literacy, parenting, and school readiness program hosted at NYU FHC. The program serves low‑income patients from diverse cultures and ethnicities and is structured around three main components: volunteer readers in clinic waiting rooms; parent education on the importance of literacy and healthy development; and distribution of new, developmentally and culturally appropriate books by medical providers during well‑child visits.
