Anticipated Leave Replacement Teacher Assistant (2026 - 2027 School Year)
Principal Function: Assists the certificated teacher in regular instructional classroom activities.
Reports To:
The assigned certificated teacher and/or the Principal and/or Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction & Pupil Personnel Services
Job Goal: To contribute to a positive and productive learning environment by supporting classroom instruction, assisting students with/without diverse academic and developmental needs, and collaborating with teachers to enhance student engagement and success. Dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive atmosphere where young learners in elementary and middle school can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Experience in implementing instructional resources and activities provided by a classroom teacher in order to meet students' needs and encourage student growth and progress across content areas.
- Assist the teacher in the supervision of students.
- Work with students individually or in small groups.
- Document student progress and communicate with teachers to keep them informed.
- Ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds who have diverse developmental and academic skills and needs
- Desire to grow as a part of a professional community in order to support instructional practice, student learning, and students' overall growth and achievement
- Possess exemplary interpersonal skills and tools for collaboration with all school faculty, staff, administrators, and families in service to students
- Follows safety procedures in carrying out the instructional program.
- Carries out all duties in accordance with Greenwood Lake UDSD policies, regulations and practices.
- Follow the established guidelines of the Employee Handbook.
- Other responsibilities, as assigned, based on the needs of the school and its students.
Terms of Employment: 10-month school-year; work day, salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education

Evaluation:
At least annually by Principal and/or Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Pupil Personnel Services
