** Position Summary
** The CRED Program Assistant supports the delivery of the CRED Career Pathways by assisting the Instructors with classroom instruction, participant support, technical skill development, and administrative tasks. This position plays a critical role in ensuring participants receive individualized classroom support, stay on track with coursework and certifications, and successfully progress through the training program.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Information Technology, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping adult learners develop the skills necessary to enter the technology workforce.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Classroom and Instructional Support
* Assist the workforce Instructors during in-person and virtual training sessions.
* Support classroom management and participant engagement during instruction.
* Help prepare classroom materials, training equipment, and learning resources.
* Reinforce lesson content through small group and one-on-one support.
* Assist with classroom technology setup and troubleshooting.
* Monitor participant attendance, participation, and engagement.
** Classroom Support and Tutoring
*** Provide one-on-one classroom support to participants who require additional assistance.
* Review and reinforce concepts covered during class sessions.
* Assist participants with completing assignments, labs, projects, and homework.
* Conduct study sessions and review workshops for certification exams.
* Support participants in developing effective study habits and time management skills.
* Identify participants who may need additional academic support and communicate concerns to the IT Instructor and Program Director.
** Certification and Career Preparation Support
*** Assist participants preparing for industry-recognized certifications, including CompTIA A+, Google AI Essentials, and other approved credentials.
* Review practice exams and help participants understand testing objectives.
* Provide guidance on certification study plans and exam readiness.
* Support participants in completing online learning modules and certification coursework.
* Encourage participant accountability and progress toward credential attainment.
** Technology and Lab Support
*** Assist with maintaining classroom computers, laptops, and training equipment.
* Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
* Ensure classroom technology is operational and ready for instruction.
* Maintain inventory of training materials, devices, and equipment.
* Report technical issues requiring escalation to the workforce Instructors or Program Director.
** Participant Support and Workforce Development
*** Serve as a positive mentor and resource for participants throughout training.
* Encourage professionalism, attendance, and active participation.
* Assist participants with navigating online learning platforms and digital resources.
* Support workforce readiness activities including resume development, interview preparation, and professional communication exercises, if applicable.
* Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
** Program Administration
*** Assist with maintaining participant records, assignment completion tracking, and certification progress reports.
* Support data collection and reporting requirements as needed.
* Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and program events, as required
* Support front desk coverage as needed
* Assist with ordering supplies, copies, and refreshments/snacks.
* Perform other duties related to participant success and program operations as assigned.## Qualifications
** Qualifications
* ** Associate's degree, technical certification, or relevant experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Help Desk Support, or a related field preferred.
* Knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, networking fundamentals, and troubleshooting techniques.
* Familiarity with CompTIA A+, Google certifications, Microsoft Office, and common IT support tools preferred.
* Experience tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or training adults or young adults preferred.
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

* Ability to explain technical concepts to individuals with varying levels of experience.
* Patience and commitment to participant success.
* Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
* Experience working in workforce development, education, or community-based programs is a plus.
