The IDEAL School seeks a high‑energy, mission‑driven educator who holds a current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential to work as an Associate Teacher with a Lower School student in need of direct behavioral support to access the curriculum and the community in an inclusion school. The candidate must collaborate, follow established class routines, create individual goals, implement behavior plans with a BCBA, differentiate and modify the curriculum, and provide creative support strategies.
Responsibilities- Partner with teachers, therapists, and additional professionals on implementation of support strategies across settings.
- Implement modified behavior plans and behavior management as needed for the assigned student.
- Utilize specific instructional and behavioral techniques to meet individual student needs.
- Work as a member of the Lower School classroom teaching team to plan and differentiate curriculum and support the classroom and other students as needed.
- Collaborate on the established classroom curriculum and create and implement individual goals for the assigned student.
- Create differentiated lessons and materials to support the assigned student’s access to the curriculum.
- Communicate proactively on a daily basis with the family of the assigned student.
- Attend CSE meetings and yearly goal reviews as needed.
- Provide support for Activities of Daily Living as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- RBT certification.
- At least one year of experience in a school or similar setting.
- Willingness to learn in an educational environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Master’s degree or current enrollment in a relevant Master’s program.
- Independent school experience.
- Strong understanding of differentiation.
- Appreciation for the school’s mission.
- Ability to collaborate as part of a team.
- Desire to make a difference in the school, including contributing time and talent outside of the classroom.
- Flexibility and a sense of humor.
Salary Range: $48–53 k (salary determined based on education, experience, and other job‑related factors).
