The Lab Technician provides essential support to the Science faculty in designing and executing hands‑on, inquiry‑based lab experiences for students in grades 5–12. This role, working in close collaboration with Middle and Upper School science teachers, is critical to maintaining the rigor, safety, and day‑to‑day operations of a dynamic science program.
Responsibilities- Collaborate weekly with science faculty to plan upcoming labs and activities
- Set up and break down lab equipment and materials across multiple classrooms
- Prepare chemical solutions and biological materials as needed
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized laboratory spaces in accordance with safety standards
- Manage equipment and supply orders; track expenditures against department budget
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventories of lab materials and chemicals
- Background in laboratory preparation and protocols, particularly in the biological and chemical sciences
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with faculty across grade levels
- Organized, flexible, and skilled in time management in a fast‑paced school environment
- Enthusiasm for working with young people and supporting a mission‑driven academic community
$21 per hour
· 20 hours per week
