Special Education Associates is looking for compassionate, dedicated
Special Education Itinerant Teachers (SEIT)to provide services to preschool-aged children (CPSE) with autism, speech delays, and other developmental disabilities throughout New York City. If you're looking for an agency that truly supports its providers, we'd love to meet you.

Whether you're an experienced SEIT or just beginning your career, you'll never feel like you're on your own. Our dedicated SEIT Supervisor and Director provides ongoing mentorship, guidance, and clinical support, while our SEIT Observers offer classroom coaching and practical feedback. We are proud of the supportive environment we've created and are committed to helping every provider grow professionally.
Responsibilities- Provide individualized SEIT services to preschool-aged children in school, daycare, or home settings
- Develop and implement IEP goals tailored to each child's unique needs
- Foster communication, social, emotional, behavioral, and academic development
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, therapists, and other service providers
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Create engaging, positive learning experiences that help children reach their full potential
- New York State Special Education Teacher Certification (Birth–Grade 2, All Grades, or Permanent Special Education Certification)
- At least one year of experience working with preschool-aged children (CPSE)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Compassionate, patient, organized, and dependable
Candidates currently employed by the NYC Department of Education are not eligible. Former DOE employees must have a minimum one-year separation before providing SEIT services.
