General Description

SUNY Niagara seeks a part‑time Welding Instructor to teach Welding courses in the Business, Technology & Arts department. Classes are scheduled in the afternoons and early evenings at the BOCES Sanborn campus. The instructor will deliver course content through practical, pre‑developed curriculum and will work with a diverse student population.

Typical Work Activities

Courses range from Introduction to Welding through Welding Certification. Lessons are administered using practical application and aligned with existing course frameworks.

Essential Functions
  • Work with and teach a diverse student population.
  • Speak in front of groups of students and staff.
  • Effectively communicate with students, co‑workers, supervisors, and the campus community.
  • Develop, prepare, and present instructional material.
  • Operate computers for instructional purposes.
  • Physically perform the duties of the position.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Welding.
  • Experience programming Lincoln Torch Mate plasma table.
  • Familiarity with Miller welding equipment such as the 350P MIG and Syncrowave 300 for stick and TIG processes.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Welding.
  • Certification in any welding process.
