Position Description Job OverviewUnder the direct supervision of the Principal, the School Aide plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the school. This position blends clerical responsibilities with direct student support, helping to create a safe, welcoming, and well-organized environment where students can thrive.
Throughout the school year, the School Aide also works in close collaboration with the Executive Director and Director of Systems on school-wide priorities and operational needs, while maintaining the Principal as the primary supervisor. At Bronx Arts, this role is all about showing up for our community—ensuring every student, family, and staff member feels seen, supported, and set up for success.

- Principal-all day to day duties
- Executive Director-Student recruitment, food service
- Perform clerical tasks such as copying, filing, faxing, and distributing instructional materials (textbooks, paper, workbooks, etc.)
- Answer phones and provide general reception support
- Make calls to families, vendors, and other stakeholders as needed
- Maintain inventory and ensure supplies are stocked and organized
- Welcome and assist students, families, and staff with warmth and professionalism
- Support daily school operations including breakfast, lunch, dismissal, and bus duty
- Assist with student recruitment efforts and school events
- Provide classroom coverage when needed
- Organize and supervise games and recreational activities during recess to support students' social, emotional, and physical development
- Monitor student arrival and dismissal, including ensuring students board the correct buses safely

- Professional maturity, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with students, staff, and families
- A reliable, detail-oriented team player who takes initiative and contributes to a smooth, well-run school

- High school diploma required
- Food Protection Certificate preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
