Special Educator Resource Room

Family of Kidz is hiring immediate openings for a Special Educator Resource Room.

    Availability during school hours typically Mon‑Fri.
    • Follows school calendar
    • Specific session lengths depend on IEP mandates (e.g., 1×30 min, 5×45 min, etc.)
  • Compensation: $60/hour (note: rates determined by service provided, professional experience and license/certifications held).

Rates are determined by the service provided, professional experience and license/certifications held. The position posted may be either full‑time or fee‑for‑service (FFS), depending on the current caseload which will be discussed during the interview. This arrangement can vary and is subject to change.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct, small-group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs.
  • Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to support diverse learners.
  • Review, understand, and implement each student’s IEP mandates.
  • Collect ongoing progress data and prepare quarterly progress reports.
  • Maintain accurate session notes and submit documentation within required timelines.
  • Communicate regularly with general education teachers regarding student needs, accommodations, and classroom strategies.
  • Participate in CSE/IEP meetings as needed.
  • Maintain professional communication with families, school administrators, and related service providers.
  • Create a structured, supportive learning environment.
  • Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom routines.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data.

  • NYS Students with Disabilities Certification K‑6, 7‑12 (NYS SWD All Grades or Permanent Preferred).
  • Minimum of (1) year experience working in a setting focusing on supporting children and their families preferred.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
