Rella's Spielhaus, the premier German Daycare and Preschool in New York is located on the Upper West Side, 1/2 block away from Central Park.
We are looking for a qualified, dedicated and caring Assistant Teacher to help care for our youngest children (12 - 24 months). At Rella's Spielhaus, we speak German, so you will too. As an Assistant Toddler Teacher, you will work with the Toddler Room Head Teacher by supporting them to provide a safe, friendly, welcoming and clean environment. Additionally, you will assist in the implementation of the Rella's Spielhaus Curriculum.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Support the classroom in free play, circle time, singing, arts& crafts and snack and lunchtime.
- Help with diapering/toileting, feeding, nap time.
- Accompany the children to the playground and outings.

This is a full-time position can be full time (40hrs), a minimum of 25hrs is required.
Pay:
Depending on prior experience: $42K-50K

Qualifications
- Native German speaker (C1 or C2 level proficiency acceptable as well).
- Background in Early Childhood Education, including knowledge of toddler development and age-appropriate practices.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues.
- Prior experience working in a childcare center, preschool, or similar setting is preferred.
- Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment and to follow center policies and procedures.
- Patience, high reliability, and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is a plus.
