Teachers are chosen not only for their credentials but also for their ability to connect with learners of all ages and tailor lessons to individual goals. Students range from young beginners to adult musicians, studying multiple instruments and genres including Classical, Rock, Jazz, and Pop, with support for recitals, competitions, auditions, and talent shows.
Role Description We are seeking Piano, Guitar, Violin, Voice, Woodwind, Brass and Percussion teachers. The Music Teacher will provide personalized in-home music lessons to students in New York, NY, focusing on skill development, technique, and musical expression. This part-time, on-site role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and adjusting instruction to meet individual learning styles and goals. The teacher will communicate regularly with students and caregivers about progress, practice expectations, and upcoming performance opportunities.
Responsibilities include preparing learners for recitals, auditions, and other musical events, maintaining a professional and supportive teaching environment, and adhering to Music To Your Home’s standards for quality and reliability.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Music Theory and general Music knowledge.
- Proficient Music Performance skills, with experience performing solo or in ensembles.
- Background in Music Education, including lesson planning and instructional methods.
- Demonstrated proficiency on Piano or another primary instrument.
- Experience teaching students of varied ages and skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
- Ability to travel to students’ homes in New York, NY and maintain punctual, reliable scheduling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and encouraging teaching style.
- Degree in Music, Music Education, or related field, or equivalent professional training and experience.
- Experience preparing students for recitals, auditions, or competitions is highly beneficial.
