Working HoursClasses are held Monday – Friday between 9am and 6pm on the main campus in Sanborn, NY. The candidate must also be available for Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons for concerts/events. Flexible scheduling is required.
Remuneration$1,008 per lecture hour / $903 per lab hour.
General DescriptionPart‑time instructor of Music for the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences department. The role involves teaching courses, maintaining course materials, and engaging with a diverse student population.
Typical Work Activities- Teach courses in the delivery format agreed upon
- Track attendance as needed
- Report on student learning outcomes at the end of the semester
- Report grades at the conclusion of the semester
Ability to work with and teach a student population with diverse backgrounds. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co‑workers, supervisors and the campus community. Must be able to develop, prepare and present information. Must be able to operate computers. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Music
- 6 years of experience teaching at a college/high school or professional level
- Ability to communicate and teach students at all levels of musicianship
- Master’s degree in Music or Doctor of Musical Arts
- Experience teaching courses in Guitar, Jazz Band/Ensemble, Piano
- Professional performance experience
- Experience teaching college‑level courses
- Experience with instructional technology
- Ability to read music
