Part Time OSHA and Safety Training Instructor
SUNY Niagara is seeking a part‑time instructor to teach OSHA and safety courses in the Business & STEM division. The position requires expertise in OSHA training and development of curriculum.
Position DetailsWorking Hours:
Mondays and Wednesdays, 3:45 pm – 7:30 pm. Remuneration: $1,008 per lecture hour / $903 per lab hour for teaching at least three credits in a semester.
- Teach OSHA and safety courses in the agreed delivery format (on‑campus, hybrid, blended or online).
- Develop course content, student learning outcomes, and assessment measures for the OSHA and safety curriculum.
- Plan and use diverse instructional methods and materials appropriate for students with varied backgrounds and learning styles.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and submit reports within requested timelines.
- Recommend and evaluate textbooks and learning materials.
- Utilize technology effectively and explore innovative instructional methodologies.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with students, faculty, and the community.
- Assist in program assessment, reporting, and public‑relations activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Navigate relationships with diverse populations and maintain a flexible schedule.
- Communicate effectively with students, coworkers, and community.
- Design, prepare, and deliver instruction.
- Operate computers and software programs.
- Develop instructional materials and evaluate student progress.
- Handle administrative responsibilities related to teaching.
- Organize time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Physically perform job duties as required.
- At least 3 years’ experience providing OSHA training.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- OSHA Instructor certification.
- 3–5 years of related work experience.
- Experience with remote learning and the Brightspace learning management system.
