Assistant Professor - Health Science/Community Health

The Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation at Kingsborough Community College (CUNY) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in Health Science/Community Health. The successful candidate will perform teaching, research, student advisement and will participate in departmental, college and university service consistent with CUNY faculty responsibilities.

• Teach undergraduate courses in Health Science and Community Health
• Advise and mentor students toward academic and professional success
• Participate in curriculum development, assessment and program evaluation
• Engage in scholarly, professional, and creative activities appropriate to rank
• Serve on departmental, college, and university committees
• Perform related academic and administrative duties as assigned

• Ph.D. in Health Science/Community Health or a closely related discipline or equivalent terminal degree
• Prior college-level teaching experience with demonstrated experience working with diverse, no-traditional, and underserved student populations
• Experience coordinating and delivering courses across multiple modalities, including online, hybrid, and in-person formats
• Demonstrated ability to teach successfully at the college level
• Evidence of scholarship, professional achievement, or academic potential
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and external clinical partners

• Prior teaching experience in Health Science/Community Health programs
• Five years of college level teaching experience with demonstrated experience working with diverse, non-traditional, and underserved student populations
• Ability to teach across health science, community health, health education, community and public health, sport management, and physical education
• Knowledge of and commitment to Associate Degree Health Science/Community Health education
• Experience with curriculum development, assessment, and academic program review
• Evidence of ongoing scholarly or professional activity
