General Description

SUNY Niagara has a need for a part‑time instructor to teach various physics courses in our Business & STEM division. Classes are held on the main campus in Sanborn, NY.

  • General Physics I lab
  • General Physics II lab
  • Calculus Based Physics I lab
  • Calculus Based Physics II lab
  • Wave, Motion, Heat, & Light lab
Typical Work Activities
  • Teach courses in the delivery format agreed upon (face‑to‑face, zoom option, hyflex, hybrid, blended, or online)
  • Hold office hours (in person or virtual as appropriate)
  • Report on student learning outcomes at the end of the semester
  • Report grades at the conclusion of the semester
Essential Functions

Ability to work with, and teach a diverse student population; effectively communicate with students, co‑workers, supervisors, and the campus community; develop, prepare and present information; operate computers; physically perform the duties of the position; adjust teaching to ADA provisions.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Physics or related field OR Master’s Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Physics or related field
  • At least one year teaching experience at the post‑secondary level
Desirable Qualifications

Background in alternative course delivery models and instructional experience at a community/technical college or four‑year college with emphasis in calculus‑based physics.
