Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) - Queens
Job Summary:
Shema Kolainu – Hear Our Voices (SKHOV) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) to join our team of professionals in providing high-quality education to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related developmental disabilities. As a SEIT, you will work closely with children and families to develop and implement individualized educational plans, promoting independence, productivity, and inclusion in the community.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement individualized educational plans for children with ASD and related developmental disabilities
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in various settings, including schools, homes, and community-based locations
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and therapists to ensure comprehensive support for students
- Conduct initial assessments, progress monitoring, and evaluations to inform educational planning and progress
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in autism education and related therapies
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills
- Master's degree in Special Education or related field
- Special Education Certification
- $80 - $90 / Hour
- PART-TIME AND FULL-TIME opportunities available
- 2 years of experience, with a strong understanding of autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with families, teachers, and therapists
- Flexibility to work in various settings, including schools, homes, and community-based locations
- A dynamic and supportive work environment with a team of dedicated professionals
- PTO - 20 hours and over- 2 days PTO, 30 hours and over- 2 days PTO and 2 days holiday pay.
