Anatomy & Physiology Instructor for Practical Nursing

Number of Positions: 1 (This is a temporary assignment from August 31 - November 24, 2026)

Salary: $38.68 per hour

The Anatomy & Physiology Instructor for Practical Nursing is responsible for delivering high-quality lecture and laboratory instruction to students enrolled in the Practical Nursing (PN) program. The instructor translates complex biological and physiological concepts into clinically relevant knowledge, preparing students for pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, and NCLEX-PN exam readiness.

  • Teach lecture and laboratory sections covering human anatomical structures and physiological body systems.
  • Tailor A&P concepts specifically to nursing practice (e.g., emphasizing pathophysiological connections, fluid/electrolyte balances, and organ system dysfunction).
  • Integrate interactive teaching methodologies, such as virtual 3D dissection software, computer-simulated physiology labs, and anatomical models.
  • Facilitate lab activities focusing on safe lab practices, microscopic histology, virtual organ dissections, and practical demonstrations
  • Develop and maintain updated course syllabi, lesson plans, learning objectives, and lab schedules aligned with program and state nursing board standards.
  • Select appropriate instructional materials, textbooks, digital platforms, and lab equipment in collaboration with the department head.
  • Maintain an online learning management system (LMS) for course materials, announcements, and grade tracking.
  • Design, administer, and grade examinations, quizzes, lab practicals, and assignments in a timely manner.
  • Monitor student performance, provide constructive feedback, and identify students needing academic assistance.
  • Maintain regular posted office hours to tutor and mentor nursing students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and curriculum reviews.
  • Ensure laboratory safety compliance, chemical hygiene protocols, and proper care of models, specimens, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, academic progress, and learning outcomes.
