The Bronx Center for Science and Mathematics (BCSM) is looking for a Special Education Teacher to co-teach some ELA and History classes! The Special Education Teacher is expected to provide students with rigorous instruction designed to promote the full development of students.
- 1. Valid New York State Teacher Certificate
- 4. Completion of mandatory training sessions (DASA and Child Abuse Workshops)
- 5. Passion for working with high school students!
- 6. Interest in teaching in the Humanities [a combo of ELA & History classes!]
Major responsibilities include:
- developing, managing, and implementing the IEP for a subset of students
- curriculum development and modification based on IEP goals and objectives
- long and short-term lesson plan preparation
- knowledge of subject material and student evaluation
- development and maintenance of parent/teacher and student/teacher relationships
- participation in meetings and professional development, and so on!
