Job Description About Hyde Leadership Charter School

The Dean of Student Life and Culture will foster a caring, supportive and inclusive community and uphold high behavioral expectations for students, staff, and families by ensuring fidelity to the Hyde Five Words and Principles, adherence to policies and protocols as specified in school handbooks and the implementation of the student culture rubric. The Dean of Students works in close collaboration with the School Counselor and the Director of Family Education Department to help ensure holistic student success.
Responsibilities- Communicate and uphold clear behavioral expectations using restorative, reflective, and growth-focused practices
- Supervise accountability systems including detentions, discipline processes, re-entry meetings, and documentation
- Partner with families to reinforce expectations and strengthen engagement; support orientations and family programs
- Lead character education initiatives including Discovery Group programming, school meetings, student leadership, and culture-building events
- Coach and support staff on classroom management, culture systems, and family communication; provide feedback through observations
- Support structured school operations including arrival, transitions, mealtime, recess, and dismissal
- Maintain accurate records; use data to assess school climate and inform decisions
- Support behavior plans, intervention strategies, and onboarding of new students
- Collaborate on student activities such as ceremonies, celebrations, spirit events, and leadership opportunities
- Maintain positive school environment including signage, messaging, and cultural communications
- Builds trust and positive relationships with students, families, and staff
- Strong communicator, highly organized, proactive problem-solver
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with professionalism and discretion
- Strong commitment to Hyde’s mission
- 3–5 years school-based leadership experience
