Role Description The Engineering Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY. This educator will design and deliver engaging engineering and STEM-focused lessons, aligned with school curricula and state standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning instructional units, teaching classes, assessing student learning, providing feedback, and maintaining accurate records of student progress. The Engineering Teacher will integrate project-based learning, technology, and real-world applications into coursework, while fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration.

Additional responsibilities include participating in school-wide initiatives, communicating with families and colleagues, and contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture.
Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to teach engineering or related STEM subjects, with experience developing and delivering standards-aligned lesson plans.
  • Skills in classroom management, student engagement, and differentiation to support diverse learning needs and backgrounds.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and colleagues in a public school environment.
  • Comfort with educational technology, engineering software, and hands-on lab or project-based instructional approaches.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Education, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Valid or eligibility for appropriate New York State teaching certification in a relevant subject area.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching practices.
  • Experience in urban schools or working with multilingual learners is a plus.
