Certified School Psychologist (Master's Level)
The Hagedorn Little Village School, Jack Joel Center for Special Children, in Seaford, NY is a school for children with developmental disabilities ranging in age from 2 to 12 years. The CPSE (Committee on Pre-School Special Education) evaluations department conducts assessments for children between the ages of 2.5 and 5.5 referred by their local school district. This position will support the CPSE department.
Position beginning September 2026
Hours:
M-F 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
10-month position following school calendar
Job Type: Full-time/10 months
Salary commensurate with experience
10 Month Salary Range: $62,000 - $67,000
Salaried Position with benefits (medical, dental, vision, 403B, sick/personal time, paid holidays)
Educational Requirements:
- Applicant must possess a Master's Degree in Psychology and Certification as School Psychologist
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct social history interviews and classroom observations
- Conduct cognitive and educational evaluations
- Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments in community pre-schools
- Provide families with information regarding the CPSE process and the evaluations conducted with their child
- Participate in school district meetings and present the evaluations to the Committee on Preschool Special Education
- Complete Individual Education Plans (IEP)
- Conduct parent training sessions (optional)
Candidate will possess:
- Passionate to work with children and families
- Empathetic & considerate of others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must possess excellent time management/organizational skills, be able to multi task, and meet deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members
- Experience with school districts or CPSE procedures a plus
- Bilingual a plus
Fingerprinting and New York State criminal background check is mandatory
