General DescriptionTeach foundation design within an existing structured foundation arts program, emphasizing fundamentals, principles, and the application of design concepts.
Typical Work Activities- Teach courses in the agreed delivery format
- Track attendance as needed
- Report on student learning outcomes at semester end
- Report grades at semester conclusion
Work with and teach a diverse student population; speak before groups; communicate effectively with students and colleagues; prepare and present material; operate computers; physically perform required duties.
Required Qualifications- Graduate degree in Art, Design, or related field
- Active art/design career evidenced by exhibitions, work, and/or publications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative style
- Strong design skills
- Evidence of two years of college or university level teaching
- Evidence of community college teaching experience
- Evidence of teaching diverse student populations
