Part Time Culinary Community Education Technical Assistant

SUNY Niagara is seeking a part‑time Culinary Community Education Technical Assistant to aid in teaching community education courses in Culinary, Baking, and Pastry. Classes are typically 3–4 hours per week, held on campus or online, with prep and cleanup time included.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare kitchen classroom for instruction.
  • Demonstrate cooking and baking techniques.
  • Assist students with tasks and time management.
  • Demonstrate proper kitchen safety and sanitation practices.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen classroom to NFCI standards.
Essential Functions

Ability to work with and teach a diverse student population. Must communicate effectively with students, co‑workers, supervisors, and the campus community. Must develop, prepare, and present instructional material, operate computers, and adjust teaching to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.

Qualifications
  • Associates degree in Culinary or Baking and Pastry or
  • Two years of work experience in a culinary or baking and pastry field.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Varied work experience.
  • Previous teaching experience.
Compensation

Salary ranges from $22.52 to $24.76 per hour, depending on education level:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree: $22.52 per hour.
  • Master's degree or higher: $24.76 per hour.
Working Hours

Up to 28 hours per week; days and times vary.
