Position Description

The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Manhattan University seeks outstanding applicants for a part-time Adjunct Professor for the undergraduate Psychology program. This search isopen to candidates in all areas of Psychology. A strong preference for candidates who hold a Ph.D. in Psychology, or a related discipline. Candidates must demonstrate experience in teaching undergraduate students.
Job Responsibilities- Provide high-quality instruction to students in the assigned courses.
- Develop course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, andassessments.
- Engage and inspire students through effective teaching strategies.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student engagement and academic success.
- Ensure active participation and engagement of students.
- Provide timely feedback and guidance to students to support their learning and development.
- Submit grades on time and otherwise comply with requests fromthe chair.
- Collaborate with other faculty members and participate in departmental meetings and activities.
- It is the responsibility of the adjunct instructor to provide content for and teach assigned courses. Courses that may be assigned include but are not limited to:
- Introduction to Psychology
- Other classes (electives, special topics, etc.) may also be available to teach depending on the adjunct professor’s areas of expertise and the department’s needs.
Qualifications:
- Must have earned a PhD. in Psychology, or related area.
- Some light lifting associated with setting up computers,document cameras, or other hardware needed for conducting a mixedin-person plus remote class.
Salary Range Based on
Experience:
- Instructor $1,477.28 per credit
- Assistant Professor $1,526.25 per credit
- Associate Professor $1,575.65 per credit
- Professor $1,625.04 per credit
