A school in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated 6th Grade Math & Science Teacher to join its educational team on a part-time basis. This position is ideal for an educator who enjoys working with middle school students and can make math and science engaging, understandable, and relevant.

The ideal candidate is patient, organized, energetic, and capable of creating a structured classroom environment that encourages students to participate, ask questions, and strengthen their academic skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach 6th-grade math and science using engaging and age-appropriate instructional methods.
  • Prepare and deliver structured lesson plans aligned with the school's curriculum and academic goals.
  • Explain mathematical and scientific concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Create hands‑on activities, demonstrations, and problem‑solving exercises to reinforce classroom instruction.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate varying student learning styles and academic abilities.
  • Assess student understanding through assignments, quizzes, projects, and classroom participation.
  • Monitor student progress and provide additional academic support when needed.
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment.
  • Encourage critical thinking, curiosity, and independent problem‑solving.
  • Communicate with school administration, colleagues, and families regarding student progress when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records of assignments, assessments, and student performance.
