Teaching Artist
The Queens Museum is dedicated to presenting the highest quality visual arts and educational programming for people in the New York metropolitan area, and particularly for the residents of Queens, a uniquely diverse, ethnic, cultural, and international community.
The Museum fulfills its mission by designing and providing art exhibitions, public programs, and educational experiences that promote the appreciation and enjoyment of art, support the creative efforts of artists, and enhance the quality of life through interpreting, collecting, and exhibiting art, architecture, and design.
Queens Museum teaching artists are part of a diverse team of creative, highly motivated, and thoughtful educators interested in working with diverse, multi-generational audiences, particularly our adult immigrant community.
Teaching artists develop and lead various workshops and hands-on projects that promote ongoing learning in our adult immigrant community and through the arts and digital media.
Ideal candidates will have experience teaching diverse immigrant audiences in a range of learning environments that bring fresh perspectives in creating new and innovative workshops that promote individual as well as community creative exploration. Queens Museum is looking to hire teaching artists that have experience that will support our dynamic Pre-K-12 school programs, customized in-school residencies, inclusive Art Access workshops for visitors with disabilities, drop-in family art-making days, teen leadership initiatives and seasonal camps.
