Position purpose

Provide course and registration advisement and support to students; assist in the functioning of the Academic Success

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks General
  • Advising a caseload of students as primary advisor;
  • Monitor student academic progress, identify at-risk students, and implement proactive intervention strategies to support retention and academic success.
  • Conduct degree audits and provide academic planning to ensure timely completion of program and graduation requirements.
  • Advise students on Aviation Technology Institute program requirements, course sequencing, and applicable industry certification pathways.
  • Maintain accurate advising records and utilize student information systems to track student progress, engagement, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to deliver student success initiatives, remove barriers to persistence, and promote program completion.
  • Assist students in setting educational goals
  • Assist students in choosing courses relevant to their goals;
  • Establishing and maintaining a continual dialog with a case load of students about their progress, including checking in with the students face-to-face and via phone, text and email;
  • Monitoring the progress of the assigned caseload of students in our student information system;
  • Conduct occasional workshops and programming related to registration and program completion;
  • Participate in general retention efforts of the college, including committee meetings;
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive information and student records;
