- Valid New York State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Previous experience teaching K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Proficiency in language development strategies, assistive technology, and accessible curriculum adaptation
- Strong communication skills with students, families, and educational teams
- Comfortable with both in-person and remote (virtual) instruction
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, ensuring access to the general curriculum
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to implement IEP accommodations and modifications
- Monitor student progress and maintain documentation in accordance with school and state requirements
- Provide consultation and training for school personnel and families on best practices in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment where students can thrive academically and socially
