The Department of Mathematics at Colgate University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Statistics, anticipated to begin the fall semester of 2027. Candidates must have expertise in Statistical Network Analysis, Graphical Modeling, Causal Inference, or a closely related topic. All Ph.D. degree requirements must be completed by the date of appointment:
July 1, 2027, or shortly after.
The successful candidate will enhance our advanced undergraduate statistics courses, create research opportunities for senior students, and support introductory-level offerings. They will collaborate with colleagues to refine and expand the statistics curriculum at Colgate, support the new Statistics major program (approved by the University, awaiting New York State approval), contribute to the department’s research profile, and participate in Colgate’s Liberal Arts Core Curriculum and other university-wide initiatives.
The teaching load is five undergraduate courses per year, normally with no more than two unique course preparations per semester.
