Exceptional preschool teachers don't require a script. They require a school that respects their professional judgment.
If you're an educator who views play as meaningful work, prioritizes relationships over academics, and sees every moment as a chance for development, Alpha will be the right fit for you.
This is a full-time, on-site position in Manhattan, where you will lead a Pre-K classroom focused equally on emotional safety, curiosity, and observable developmental progress. You'll create engaging, play-based learning environments that support children in building confidence, resilience, early literacy, numeracy, and an authentic passion for learning. We seek educators who understand that high-quality preschool is not childcare—it's the groundwork for all future learning.
Alpha is transforming education by accelerating academic mastery, freeing up time to cultivate the essential life skills students need. That transformation starts in Pre-K with outstanding teachers who understand how to make play purposeful.
We anticipate hiring candidates from throughout the New York metro area. If you're a talented educator interested in relocating closer to the city, relocation assistance will be provided.
What You Will Be Doing- Create joyful, sensory-rich learning environments that deliberately support early literacy, numeracy, self-regulation, and social-emotional growth.
- Build a classroom culture where each child feels emotionally secure, fully understood, and enthusiastic about attending school daily.
- Monitor children's development continuously, record significant progress, and apply those observations to tailor instruction.
- Modify activities based on individual children's interests and developmental stages, ensuring every learner achieves measurable growth.
- Collaborate closely with families to communicate progress, acknowledge milestones, and reinforce each child's development at home.
- Supervising children without intentional developmental goals guiding each activity.
- Relying on scripted curricula, worksheet-based instruction, or teaching methods that prioritize compliance over curiosity.
- Spending the majority of your time managing behavior instead of fostering children's emotional regulation skills.
- Placing children in front of educational software while you observe passively from a distance.
