Description:
The Office of Graduate Admissions is responsible for recruiting, nurturing, and advising prospective students from initial interest to matriculation. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Admissions, the Senior Admissions Officer is the primary point of contact for prospective students, applicants, and matriculants, providing high-touch support and serving as an ambassador for Bank Street, ultimately fostering long-term relationships that carry through to enrollment.
The role helps applicants understand the value of a Bank Street degree and inspires candidates to connect with our learner-centered, social-justice-oriented mission. This position combines relationship-building with data-informed strategy, requiring active participation in on- and off-campus recruitment, including some travel, application reviews, and internal academic partnerships. As a Senior Officer, you will manage a dedicated student caseload and take strategic leadership over a specific portfolio of academic programs, serving as the team s subject matter expert for those areas.
From conducting personalized outreach and hosting program-specific and general evening information sessions to tracking pipeline health in Slate, you will guide prospective students through every stage of the admissions process and transition them to the start of classes.
- Program & Territory Ownership:
Manage a dedicated applicant caseload and serve as the primary admissions team expert and leader for a specific portfolio of academic programs. Act as the strategic owner of these territories, monitoring their overall pipeline health from prospect to matriculation. - Proactive Outreach:
Conduct consistent, personalized outreach to prospective students and applicants to drive engagement and conversion throughout all stages of the application funnel. - Advising & Support:
Provide detailed information regarding academic programs, the Bank Street philosophy, admissions requirements, and the application process to ensure candidates are well-qualified and prepared. Make connections to the Financial Aid team as appropriate and serve as a main point of contact for prospective students and applicants. - Application Review:
Serve as a core member of the admissions committee by reading and evaluating applications to determine institutional fit and minimum application requirements by program. - Recruitment & Events:
Help plan and represent the institution at on-campus, online, and off-campus recruitment events, presenting a professional and knowledgeable face for the organization, and building relationships with prospective students and partners. Own and facilitate information sessions and recruitment events tailored to assigned programs, while proactively identifying and suggesting new marketing avenues and recruitment initiatives to expand the pipeline. - Internal Partnership:
Work directly with internal academic partners to resolve applicant questions and ensure prospects are moving through the admissions process seamlessly. Build strong relationships with faculty within assigned programs and optimize opportunities for collaboration for recruitment and applicant advising.
