Job Summary
The Media Studies program of the Communication and the Arts Department at Mercy University seeks part-time adjunct instructors to teach Media Studies courses to undergraduate students.
Successful candidates may be offered the opportunity to teach up to three sections of any given course, with an emphasis on journalism, radio and television production, and film studies, with a maximum of three course assignments per semester. Commitment to teaching with inclusive excellence is required.
Candidates may also be asked to provide assistance with program assessment and development and to attend select programmatic or professional development meetings.
Schedule:
Day and evening teaching opportunities.
Location:
Courses may be offered at the Dobbs Ferry, Manhattan, or Bronx campuses, or online.
Candidates should also provide a statement of scholarly interests.
Required Skills & Experience- Demonstrated experience successfully teaching Media Studies at the college level.
- Compensation is based on a semester and calculated on a semi-monthly pay cycle.
- Independent with great levels of responsibility, while collaborating and communicating with a multi‑campus team.
- Master's or Doctorate from an accredited institution in an appropriate academic discipline.
