Position Overview

A school in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Computer Teacher to join its educational team on a part-time basis. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with students and is passionate about helping them develop practical computer, technology, and digital literacy skills.

The teacher will provide engaging, age-appropriate computer instruction while creating a positive classroom environment where students can build confidence using technology. The schedule is approximately two afternoons per week, with flexibility to adjust the number of hours based on availability and the school's needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach computer and technology skills in an engaging, student-friendly manner.
  • Prepare and deliver age-appropriate computer lessons and activities.
  • Introduce students to essential computer applications, digital tools, and technology concepts.
  • Teach practical skills such as typing, document creation, presentations, spreadsheets, and responsible internet use.
  • Help students develop confidence navigating computers and common software programs.
  • Provide hands-on instruction and individual assistance when needed.
  • Maintain a structured, positive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Adapt lessons based on students' different skill levels and learning needs.
  • Monitor student participation and progress.
  • Collaborate with school administration and teachers regarding curriculum and student needs.
  • Maintain classroom computers and report basic technology issues when necessary.
