Position Description

The Biological and Chemical Sciences department at Manhattan University offers personalized learning experience with small class sizes with dedicated faculty who are committed to teaching. The department emphasizes hands-on learning in the labs and offers all students the opportunity to do one-on-one research with a faculty member. The Biology Department seeks part-time, adjunct faculty to teachin-person lecture or laboratory classes for general/introductory biology courses for majors and/or non-majors. Faculty are expected to deliver high-quality, engaging instruction that supports student success in foundational biological sciences.

• Instructor $4,431.83 per 3-credit lecture per semester($2,955.55 per 2hr 45 min lab)
• Assistant Professor $4,578.76 per 3-credit lecture per semester($3,053.51 per 2hr 45 min lab)
• Associate Professor $4,726.94 per 3-credit lecture per semester($3,151.29 per 2hr 45 min lab)
• Professor $4,875.13 per 3-credit lecture per semester($3,250.09 per 2hr 45 min lab)

• The successful candidate will be responsible for teachingbiology lecture and/or lab courses, based on need.
• Deliver engaging and informative biology lectures.
• Conduct laboratory sessions to supplement theoreticalcoursework.
• Prepare course materials, syllabi, and assessments.
• Provide timely feedback on student progress and assignments.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Master’s degree required, Ph.D. (preferred) in biology orrelated field
• At least one year of teaching experience
• Candidates with a proven record of excellence in teaching willbe preferred.
