SUNY Niagara has a need for a part-time instructor to teach the Introduction to Web Design course, a class within the Division of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
Classes are held on the main campus in Sanborn, NY. Applicants must be able to attend in-person meetings, professional development, and other obligations on campus.
Typical Work Activities- Teach courses in the delivery format agreed upon (face-to-face, face-to-face with Zoom option, hyflex, hybrid, blended, or online)
- Hold office hours (in person or virtual, as appropriate)
- Report assessment of student learning outcomes at the conclusion of the term
- Report grades at the conclusion of the term
Ability to navigate relationships with diverse populations. Must be able to communicate effectively with students, co-workers, supervisors and the campus community. Must be able to develop, prepare, and present information. Must be able to operate computers, have reliable internet service, and must adjust any teaching to the Americans with Disabilities Act provisions.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Computer Science, or related field
- Demonstrated evidence of knowledge and experience (educational and/or professional) in web design including HTML, CSS, website design, and techniques for image editing and optimization
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and other Creative Cloud applications
- Master’s degree or terminal degree in Digital Media, Computer Science, or related field
- Evidence of experience in the creation and management of websites
- Knowledge of UX, UI, and responsive design
- Experience teaching college-level courses
- Experience with instructional technology and teaching in virtual formats
