School Year Agency Placement Position | New York City Five Boroughs

Clinical Staffing Resources is seeking qualified Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) for the school year
. This is an agency placement position
, providing educational services to students in public, private, and special education school settings throughout the five boroughs of New York City (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island).

Position Overview

The Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing loss, helping them access the curriculum, develop communication skills, and achieve their educational goals. Opportunities are available for full-time, part-time, and per diem assignments based on school needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) and instructional strategies.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and related service providers.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school and district requirements.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations regarding student needs and accommodations.
  • Support students in developing listening, language, communication, and self-advocacy skills.
  • Utilize appropriate assistive listening devices, technology, and accommodations.
  • Communicate effectively with families, school staff, and agency representatives.
Qualifications
  • New York State Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (required).
  • Master's Degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with school-aged students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred.
  • Knowledge of IEP development and special education regulations.
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to travel to assigned school locations within the five boroughs.
