Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for the daily planning, management, and supervision of the classroom and children. Generally, is assisted in the classroom by an assistant teacher.

Establish relationships with children and their families.
Ensure that the physical, social and emotional needs of the children are met daily.
Ensures all policies and procedures to keep the children healthy and safe are being implemented.
Assists and supervises children during all activities.
Ensures that appearance, cleanliness and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained.
Completes all Academy and classroom paperwork: for example, daily notes, student accident reports, attendance reports.

Qualifications:

An Associate's (AA or AS) degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or
Qualify under one of the pathways below while on a study plan working towards an Associate’sdegree in ECE:

Child Development Associate (CDA) certification and a study plan leading to an associate's degree in early childhood education within seven years; or

High school diploma or equivalent (GED); nine college credits in early childhood education or child development; two years' experience caring for children, and a study plan leading to an associate's degree in early childhood education within seven years; or

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and five years of supervised experience in an infant/toddler classroomif currently employed in a permittedchild care program; or

High school diploma or equivalent (GED); and a study plan that is acceptable to the Department leading to nine credits in early childhood education or childhood development within two years; and a study plan leading to an associate's degree in early childhood education within seven years, if currently employed in a permittedchild care program.

English-Mandarin bilingual skills are an asset
