Role Description

The Infant Teacher role at Playto Childcare is a full-time, on-site position based in Brooklyn, NY. The Infant Teacher is responsible for providing attentive, developmentally appropriate care to infants, including feeding, diapering, and maintaining safe, clean classroom environments. This role includes planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that support early learning, sensory exploration, and social-emotional development. The Infant Teacher observes and documents developmental milestones, communicates daily with families about children's routines and progress, and collaborates with colleagues to maintain consistent classroom practices.

The role also involves following health and safety guidelines, adhering to licensing regulations, and participating in ongoing training and professional development.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess skills in Early Childhood Development and Child Development to support infants’ growth across social, emotional, cognitive, and physical domains.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Curriculum Development to design and deliver age-appropriate learning experiences and routines.
  • Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to engage effectively with infants, families, and team members, including clear documentation and daily updates.
  • Relevant qualifications include prior experience working with infants in a childcare or early education setting, knowledge of health and safety practices, and familiarity with state licensing requirements.
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's in Early Childhood or a related field is required. A CDA will be considered if a part of a study plan leading to an Associate's degree.
